Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is a nationally
recognized comprehensive drowning prevention program for infants and young
children. The program focuses on educating parents and children about aquatic
survival and safety issues.

effective lessons to our credit.
ISR Instructors are the most highly trained and
qualified instructors in any swimming program in the country and must undergo
strict re-certification testing annually. Each instructor is academically
trained and tested in areas such as child psychology, physiology, anatomy and

addition, each instructor spends a minimum of 60 hours hands on, supervised

What qualifications does an ISR instructor have?
The ISR instructor, training program includes a minimum of 60
hours of supervised in-water training plus education and testing in subjects
such as child psychology, physiology, and behavioral science. All instructors
are required to maintain current CPR and First Aid certification. Training as
an instructor is a serious undertaking as each ISR instructor is carefully
screened through extensive interviews before qualifying to earn certification.
